We also have over 15000 hectares of hunting concessions where you will have access to big game and additional plains or bird shooting on request.

PHOTO SAFARI
At Imbasa Safari you can enjoy a beautiful nature and many animal species. We can also offer photo safari at the National Park, only five minutes from our gate. The park offers 20000 hectares with animals such as White Rhino, Black Rhino, Buffalo, many antelopes, Giraffe, and Zebra. Kimberley is also known for its bird-watching. It is considered to be one of the best areas in South Africa. Both the Martial Eagle and Blue Crane occur and breed in the area.

GOLF
Two golf courses are in Imbasa’s proximity; The Kimberley Golf Club and the newly opened Magersfontein Memorial Golf Club.

Kimberley Golf Club
was founded in 1890 and is one of the oldest in South Africa. It has a rich history with members such as Cecil John Rhodes back in the days. The golf club is very active with many championships at the 18 hole course.

Magersfontein Memoria
l opened its first 9 holes in April 2007. The last 9 holes will be playable during 2008. The owner and designer of the golf course is John Edwards. He has fulfilled his dream of building a golf estate on his family’s property. Apart from golf, visitors can enjoy a delicious lunch in the beautiful restaurant.

FISHING
If you are interested in fly fishing, we can truly recommend a visit to Lillydale, about 40 minutes from Imbasa. Lillydale lies by the beautiful Rietriver and is famous for its Yellowfish (catch and release). At the restaurant you can enjoy a nice meal after an exiting day of fishing.

KIMBERLEY
Kimberley is a town with a rich history. Mainly it is known as the centre of the big diamond rush and for the “Big Hole”, where more than 14 million carat of diamonds were extracted. A visit to the “Big Hole” (the largest man-made excavation in the world) will encompass two distinct experiences. Diamond Rush will reflect the history of Kimberley through the depiction of times past, including living conditions, entertainment experiences as well as trade and industry. The new Diamond World experience showcases the unique attractions of diamonds. Visitors will be taken through all aspects of the magic of diamonds, from creation, how diamonds are recovered, treated, cut and polished, through to sales and marketing. A diamond and jewellery store, coffee and curio shop is included in the experience.
